The work + Dwad Lane

The work. The method. The person behind it.

Here is the experience I bring, what an engagement has delivered, and how I work through a problem before recommending a fix.

Dwad Lane, founder of Gaps2Gains, wearing a blue jacket and glasses.

Dwad Lane

I have been responsible for the numbers, the team and the work that connects them.

My background spans 12+ years in moving, relocation and storage. I was Vice President at a global relocation company for nearly 7 years and President of my own storage company. Real estate and digital marketing have been part of my career too.

Three years working alongside two Six Sigma Black Belts taught me to trace a problem across departments before deciding what to change. I bring that same approach here: follow the work, check the records, and make the recommendation specific.

I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration from Bond University, focused on entrepreneurship and innovation, and have completed executive finance study at INSEAD.

  • An overall score and seven area scores
  • Two areas to investigate
  • The answers behind those suggestions

This shows how the assessment works. It is not evidence of a client outcome.

A missed follow-up, worked through.

Before adding automation, check where the handoff fails.

This illustrative example uses no client data and represents no measured result.

How I approach the work

A recommendation should be possible to check.

That means a starting point, someone responsible and an agreed way to judge the change.

01

Check the starting point

Use the records available. Separate what they show from what still needs investigating.

02

Name the person responsible

Agree who will make the decision, carry out the work and confirm the result.

03

Agree what success means

Choose the measure before making the change. Compare actual results with the starting point.

Before a build

  • Review the business problem and available records
  • Compare process changes, existing systems and new tools
  • Define the result each change is meant to achieve
  • Identify failure points before implementation
  • Agree which decisions need human approval

When work changes hands

  • Give the team instructions they can use
  • Document responsibilities and next steps
  • Keep estimates separate from measured results
  • Agree any support separately
